The Michigan Quarter Horse Association (MQHA) serves a diverse community of Quarter Horse owners, exhibitors, youth members, families, breeders, trainers, and enthusiasts throughout Michigan. As one of the top affiliates of the American Quarter Horse Association, they host eight competitions each year as well as educational events, a tack sale and stallion service sale that promotes the breeding of some of the country’s leading show horses.
With a full calendar of horse shows and a variety of programs, events, awards, and opportunities for members, MQHA’s website plays an important role in keeping its community connected and informed. Over time, however, the existing website had become outdated and increasingly difficult to navigate, especially for members accessing information on the go.
MQHA was eager for a refreshed website that could better serve its members by making frequently accessed information—including upcoming horse show dates, showbills, forms, point standings, membership information, and program details—easier to find. Just as importantly, the new site needed to better recognize their generous sponsors, and communicate the many benefits and opportunities available through MQHA membership while creating a more welcoming experience for new and prospective members.
Acorn Marketing redesigned the MQHA website around the needs of its members, creating a cleaner, more intuitive digital experience that makes it easier to find important information and stay connected with the association.
A key focus was reorganizing the site’s navigation and content to provide clearer paths to MQHA’s horse shows, youth opportunities, events, programs, membership resources, and other frequently accessed information. Horse show information and upcoming dates are more accessible, helping exhibitors quickly get to the details they need before and during events. Because MQHA members are often accessing the website while on the go, the new site was also designed with mobile usability in mind. The responsive design provides a more seamless experience across phones, tablets, and desktops, whether a member is checking a showbill from the barn or exploring upcoming programs from home.
The refreshed website also gives MQHA a stronger platform for showcasing the full value of membership. From horse shows and year-end awards to scholarships, their Stallion Service Sale, Queen program, annual Convention, and more, the site helps demonstrate that MQHA membership is about much more than competition—it’s about being part of an active statewide Quarter Horse community.
The result is a modern, member-focused website that makes MQHA’s extensive programs and resources easier to discover while providing the association with a stronger digital foundation for the future.
