The Quilted Pineapple
Influencer Linda Hrcka and her blog “The Quilted Pineapple” (TQP) are celebrity level household names in the quilting community. In 2011, Linda turned her passion for quilting into a career and since then, has won numerous national awards with her specialized design techniques and custom freehand quilting methods. She uses her online space to engage with her followers – sharing her longarm quilting journey and selling the custom-designed rulers and quilt templates she created.


While most logos are thoughtful in their design, this one is even more personal with Linda’s initials at the center of a pineapple – a welcoming motif indicating the purpose behind her blogging brand. When RCP was approached to give her 10-year-old brand a refresh, the importance to retain this brand’s equity was quite clear. Our approach was to refine the existing elements while signaling the brand’s new direction. With an updated color palette and crafty new font system, life has been brought back into the TQP visual identity and the brand suits a more modern context.

AN ECOMMERCE BLOG
A major challenge for content creator and savvy quilter, Linda Hrcka, was her website. The site was unresponsive and not mobile friendly making it incredibility difficult to visit or navigate from a cell phone or tablet, negatively impacting user experience. Her blog was developed and hosted through the free blogger platform, the shopping portion of the website was hosted through a third-party ecommerce vendor, while another platform was used for opt-in/subscriptions to her blog.
At RCP, we believe your website is your most important marketing asset, but we know its value also lies in it having an easy-to-use admin side. In redesigning The Quilted Pineapple’s website, we focused on the potential within the website platform itself, making it a seamless interaction between Linda and her shoppers and blog followers. The site now features a modern user experience, clear path of engagement, and opportunity for frequent use by the audience. Most importantly, it’s all on one WordPress platform for Linda to easily share updates and manage her shop utilizing the WooCommerce plugin. Plus, with the integration with MailChimp, she can also connect with her subscribers via email for new blog posts, new product introductions, and sale promotions.
